Acosta Holds Calaveras Scoreless Tuesday, July 11th , 1905 Juan Carlos Acosta kept the Michoacan Calaveras hitters from doing much damage at Campo de Oaxaca. Michoacan could only muster 4 hits and draw 1 walk against the right-handed Acosta, who controlled them throughout the game. Oaxaca won the contest, 2-0. Acosta added 7 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Acosta told reporters after the shutout win.
