Martenos Deal Pérez to Guajiros for López Thursday, December 17th , 1903 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Martenos announced today the acquisition of 30-year old 3B Esteban López from the Pinar del Rio Guajiros in exchange for 21-year old RF Enrique Pérez. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Martenos, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." In his career, López has played in 336 games with a .232 batting average. Among his 263 hits are 57 doubles, 7 triples and 5 home runs. He has also scored 120 runs and driven in 128 runs. |
