Leopardos Hurler Rocha Tosses Masterpiece

In an outstanding mound performance, Santa Clara Leopardos starter Santiago Rocha fired a complete-game shutout against the Mayabeque Alacranes at Estadio de Santa Clara.
Rocha was the key to the 3-0 Santa Clara win. The 29-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 4 hits and 1 walk he allowed.
"4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout."
Thus far this season, Rocha has tossed 298.1 innings in 32 starts, fanned 92 batters, walked 49 and put up a 2.11 ERA with 17 wins and 19 losses.

Cedeño Tosses Shutout Against Cienfuegos
Tuesday, October 27th , 1903
Fernando Cedeño had an impressive outing at Estadio de los Elefantes, hurling the Habana Leones to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Cienfuegos Elefantes.
"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Cienfuegos skipper Antoine Fontaine said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."
On the day, the right-handed Cedeño yielded 6 hits and tallied no strikeouts with no walks.
Up to now Cedeño has compiled an ERA of 2.03 with a 14-9 mark over 22 starts. He has 59 strikeouts in 204 innings and has held opponents to a .206 batting average.
