Corbett Pitches Senators to Shutout Victory
Tuesday, August 11th , 1903
In an excellent mound performance, Joe Corbett of the Washington Senators blanked the Baltimore Orioles, 3-0, on a 2-hitter.
"I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches," he said after the game.
In all, the Washington hurler rang up 3 strikeouts and no walks in the shutout win.
"We just didn't swing the bats well today," said Orioles manager Pete Fries. "Corbett did a good job keeping us guessing."
This season, Corbett has 19 wins and 11 losses and a 1.79 ERA.
