The Western League Winter Meetings, that annual exercise familiar to baseball watchers, are slated to get under way today. General managers from clubs all around the league are gathered together for three days of meetings which are sure to be dominated by contract and trade talk. The pace of dealmaking is often frenetic at the affair as team officials are able to engage in face-to-face negotiations and get prompt responses to any proposals.
This is also a reminder for teams to set their ticket prices for next season. Prices cannot change after season tickets go on sale at the end of the Winter Meetings.
