Supercalandres Fall Short, 2-1, at Gatineau
|
Gatineau turned a good effort from starter Trevor Lindsay into a win over the Lachute Supercalandres at Ballpark of Gatineau. The Draveurs won the game, 2-1. Lindsay, now 1-0, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 0, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Gatineau is now 5-3.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Draveurs had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when designated hitter Mario Quiñones hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Tobías García and made the score 2-1, Draveurs. Quiñones went 1 for 3.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Lindsay. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
