The Nuevo Laredo Colibris defeated the Sonora Chacales, 7-6, at Estadio de Nuevo Laredo. Juan Martínez was one of the standouts for Nuevo Laredo. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 triple -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Nuevo Laredo reliever Sansón Contreras picked up the win, upping his record to 4-11. Alejo Alfaro absorbed the loss.

In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 6-6, 12-year veteran Lucio Muñoz won it for Nuevo Laredo. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Muñoz hit a 0-1 slider from Alejo Alfaro for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 7-6 win.

Said Muñoz: "What's not to like about a walk-off win?"

At 62-70, the Colibris find themselves in 8th place in the Norte.
