Zapotecos Down Mayas, 5-1
|
Not everyone stuck through the 42-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Martín Medina never let Chetumal get something going. The Oaxaca left-hander commanded his sinker in pitching the Zapotecos to a 5-1 win. The Zapotecos now have a mark of 61-64.
The Zapotecos got an important contribution from shortstop Pedro Castaño, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a slider to right-center for a 2-run double. It was his 13th double of the season and put the Zapotecos ahead, 2-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Medina said after the game.
