Major at His Best, Blanks Michoacan
The Michoacan Calaveras were almost helpless in their 8-0 loss to the Acapulco Aztecas and hurler Caleb Major. Major kept the Calaveras confused all game, spinning a 7-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Major," Michoacan manager Pablo Sánchez said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 20-year-old right-hander had no walks and 3 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Major said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

Up to now Major has compiled an ERA of 3.32 with a 11-20 mark over 34 starts. He has 82 strikeouts in 265.1 innings and has held opponents to a .260 batting average.
