|
Starting pitcher Augusto Ramírez gave the Culiacan Galanes a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Tijuana Matadores, 3-2, at Estadio de Tijuana. Ricardo Reyes earned the save, his 10th. Culiacan is 9th in the Norte with a record of 51-64.
Culiacan used the timely hitting of Hestio Peña to capture the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Galanes on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Peña. "And not try to do too much."
