Rodríguez Tosses Shutout Against Chiapas
Before the game, Nerón Rodríguez said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Parque de Acapulco, the Aztecas pitcher blanked the Chiapas Quetzales, 7-0.

"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Rodríguez said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my sinker even when I was behind in the count."

The Acapulco starter held Chiapas scoreless, giving up 8 hits while registering 1 strikeout and issuing 4 walks.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Quetzales manager Martín Andrade said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."

This year, Rodríguez has made 24 starts, thrown 200 innings, fanned 73 batters and walked 69. His won-lost record is 8-8 with a 2.02 ERA.
