Corsarios Earn Clutch Win, 4-3
|
Parque de Campeche was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Campeche Corsarios and Acapulco Aztecas.
The Campeche Corsarios topped the Acapulco Aztecas, 4-3, in Sur action at Parque de Campeche. The standout performance belonged to Campeche pitcher and Tlaxcala, Mexico, native Salomón Portillo. In 9 innings, Portillo surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 3 runs.
Agamenón Figueroa aided the Campeche cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1 for 1 with a double.
"We have a lot of confidence in Salomón," said Campeche manager Gerardo Martín.
The Corsarios, at 25-26, inhabit 7th place in the Sur.
