Chorizos Pick Up 7-2 Win Against Michoacan
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Toluca Chorizos and Michoacan Calaveras came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Toluca Chorizos picked up a win at La Salchichera, taking down the Michoacan Calaveras, 7-2. Starting pitcher Bolívar Gallegos was a big reason why. Gallegos, who is tied for 8th in the LS in wins with 6, went the distance for Toluca. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits.
In the bottom of the fifth, 24-year old first baseman Fructuoso Camargo hit a 2-run single to center. The single, which was hit off of Catón de Herrera, gave Toluca a 4-1 lead.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Camargo.
Toluca is in 6th place in the Sur with a record of 20-19.
