Michoacan Topples Chetumal, 3-2

Despite the rain, the fans at Campo Municipal de Morelia enjoyed a good ballgame.
Chetumal wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Florentino González, falling to the Michoacan Calaveras, 3-2. González threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The winning pitcher was Gobrías Ruiz. His record now stands at 5-3. The left-hander went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits for the Calaveras.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Quirino Contreras was at the plate when Michoacan scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Calaveras to go in front, 3-2.
"Every loss hurts," said Chetumal manager Nicolás Durán. "But this was a tough one."
The Calaveras improved their record to 16-14 with the win over Chetumal.
