Pérez Fires Shutout in Escultores Victory
|
Ismael Pérez was in a mood to talk following the Las Tunas Escultores contest against the Ciego de Avila Monjes Grises, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Monjes Grises, 5-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Pérez said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Ciego de Avila on a 3-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 4 strikeouts.
For the season, Pérez has compiled a 12-9 record with a 1.70 ERA.
