Matanzas Still On the Schneid After 9-6 Loss to Alacranes
The Mayabeque Alacranes dumped the Matanzas Henequeneros, 9-6, in large part due to shortstop Héctor Castro. On the day, Castro went 1-2 with a triple and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Alacranes. Mayabeque is now 52-52, while Matanzas is 49-54.

Natalino Hernández had a big 3-run home run for the Alacranes in the bottom of the second inning. With Mayabeque leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 29-year old right-handed pitcher Baltasar Martínez and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Alacranes on top, 4-0.
