The Bayamo Rafagas defeated the Las Tunas Escultores, 10-5, at Estadio de Bayamo. Leading the charge for Bayamo was left fielder Ciro Cazares. He was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs. Abdón Farías earned the win for Bayamo. He lasted 8.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 12 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 21-3. The Rafagas, at 58-40, sit in first place in the Torneo Oriental Bayamo.
Cazares had a key at-bat in the bottom of the first to put Bayamo in front, 2-0. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single off Las Tunas pitcher Natalino Delgado.
