The Las Tunas Escultores and Camaguey Tinajones played an entertaining game for Parque de Camaguey patrons.

Camaguey got a decent performance from pitcher Marcelo Yáñez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Las Tunas Escultores. Las Tunas won the Parque de Camaguey contest, 6-5. Yáñez threw 8.2 innings allowing 6 runs for the losing team. Las Tunas reliever Eugenio Pérez was the winner. His record is now 7-8. The losing pitcher was Marcelo Yáñez.

The most important at-bat for Las Tunas came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Pitágoras Hernández reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, putting Las Tunas up, 6-5.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Hernández.

Las Tunas occupies third place in the Torneo Oriental Bayamo at 44-53.
