It was pandemonium at Recinto Deportivo de Holguin after an exciting walk-off win.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Holguin Pericos and the Santiago de Cuba Soneros, 32-year old left-handed pitcher Gonzalo García was the difference-maker. The Holguin left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win in 10 innings. The first-place Pericos are 53-35.
The Pericos got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Diego Arroliga. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Pericos.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Santiago de Cuba skipper Hortensio Pérez, "and it cost us."
