Tabacaleros 6-1 Losers to Santiago de Cuba

Trinidad had no answer for two-time Acutísimo (LBPC) winner Hernán Martínez. The Santiago de Cuba Soneros starter stymied Tabacaleros hitters, helping the Soneros cruise to victory, 6-1. Martínez picked up the win for Santiago de Cuba, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 7-4. Santiago de Cuba is now 35-22.
Feliciano Rodríguez had a big bases-clearing double for the Soneros in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Santiago de Cuba leading 3-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Gerardo Solís, who finished 2nd in the TOCC in wins with 19 in 1903, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Soneros ahead, 6-1.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Santiago de Cuba manager Hortensio Pérez.
