Martín Hurls Nueva Gerona to Shutout Victory
|
Evandro Martín was sneaky fast, on the mark, and hard to hit. He led the Nueva Gerona Marmoleros to victory, 5-0, blanking the Matanzas Henequeneros on 2 hits. He had 1 walk and 1 strikeout.
"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," Matanzas skipper Matthis Rey told reporters after the shutout loss. "He just had a real deceptive fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."
To date this year, in 10 starts, Martín has crafted a 5-5 mark with a 2.84 ERA.
