The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 5-2, in Central League action at Union Park. Cincinnati pitcher George Mullin had a standout performance. Cincinnati is now 68-63.

The Reds benefited from a miscue in the top of the fourth inning. Cincinnati was leading 2-1 when Homer Smoot hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Reds up, 3-1.

Cincinnati manager Ned Connor said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
