Road Win Lifts Steinbach to 2-1 Lead in LCS
When the stakes were high, Patricio Valverde raised his game to match.

The right-handed Valverde turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the League Championship Series, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Steinbach Mennonites to victory. He allowed 5 hits and struck out 4. The win gave Steinbach a 2-1 lead over the Moose Jaw Rum Runners in the best-of-7 series.

Valverde delivered a quality start for Steinbach. The 182 cm right-hander allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 9 innings of work.

"Patricio did a heck of a job," said Steinbach manager Julio Piceño.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Rum Runners Park in Moose Jaw.
