Senators Losers, 4-1, Versus New York
|
New York Giants starter Bert Abbey pitched a strong game against the Washington Senators at Boundary Field, leading the Giants to victory, 4-1. Abbey, now 11-20, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. New York is now 55-77.
New York used a well-timed hit by Bris Lord to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Giants ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Lord.
