The New York Giants defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 7-3, at Polo Grounds 1890-1910. New York first baseman Nap Lajoie had a superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs. New York is now 66-57. Baltimore is 56-67.

Jeremy Jarrard had a big 2-run triple for the Giants in the bottom of the first inning. With New York leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Doc Amole, who is tied for 10th in the EL in saves with 1, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 10th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 3-0.

"Been a pretty good stretch for me, hitting-wise," said Lajoie.
