Senators Drop Beaneaters, 5-3
The Washington Senators picked up a win at South End Grounds 1894-1915, topping the Boston Beaneaters, 5-3. On the mound for Washington was right-hander Scott Stratton. He played a principal role in the triumph. With the victory, the Senators upped their record to 69-50.

There were several reasons the Senators beat the Beaneaters, but one factor was Butts Wagner. In the top of the second, the Washington third baseman came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.

Stratton said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
