Browns Squeeze By Kansas City, 3-2
|
In a tight tilt between the St. Louis Browns and the Kansas City Scouts, Oscar Jones was the deciding factor. The St. Louis right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The Browns raised their record to 49-68.
The Browns relied on catcher Luke Shy for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the ninth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Shy said.
