The Pittsburgh Pirates got a stellar effort from pitcher Kid Camp, helping Pittsburgh score a win over the visiting Boston Beaneaters, 3-2. Will Sawyer got the save, his 5th in 5 chances. Boston has now lost 4 straight.
The Pirates got a gift in the bottom of the third inning, when they were leading 2-1. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Jesse Hoffmeister reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 3-1, Pittsburgh.
"Kid gave us a heck of an effort," said Pittsburgh manager Bill Leisz.
