Browns Defeat Spiders, 5-4
The St. Louis Browns topped the Cleveland Spiders, 5-4, in Western League action at Sportsman's Park I. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Louis pitcher Oscar Jones. Cleveland's current losing streak has reached 4 games.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 11th, 28-year old third baseman Bert Myers had a chance to be the hero. Cleveland pitcher Charlie Smith wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Myers hit a sacrifice fly. The Browns had themselves a thrilling win.

"Oscar pitched like a champ," said St. Louis manager Jim Dee.
