Cleveland Stopped, 5-2, by Chicago
|
Chicago starter Charles Bender pitched well against the Cleveland Spiders at West Side Grounds 1894-1915. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. The Western League-leading Orphans are 59-38.
In the bottom of the third, 11-year veteran Jake Stenzel hit a 2-run single to center. The single, which was hit off of Ryan Wade, gave Chicago a 4-0 lead.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Stenzel told the Chicago Today.
