The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at League Park II 1894-1901, knocking off the Cleveland Spiders, 4-2. Starting pitcher Harry Staley played a key role in the triumph. The Reds go to 41-47, putting them 4th in the Western League.

Billy Earle was a prime factor in the win for the Reds. In the bottom of the fifth with two out, the fan favorite hit a run-scoring single. He went 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"The other side took advantage in some key situations," said Cleveland manager Russ McKelvy.
