Senators Pull Off Thrilling 5-3 Win in Extras
The Washington Senators defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-3, in 13 innings in Eastern League action at Exposition Park 1891-1908. Washington pitcher Joe Corbett had a standout performance. The Senators, at 38-43, sit in third place in the Eastern League.

Corbett, a native of San Francisco, California, was dealing all game. He kept Pittsburgh hitters off-balance, while giving the Senators 13 quality innings. Corbett threw 173 pitches, allowing 12 hits and striking out 8.

"Joe had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Washington manager Pony Sager.
