Phillies Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
Al Orth, who is tied for 4th in the EL in saves with 1, was brilliant in helping Philadelphia beat the Washington Senators, 3-0. The win gives Philadelphia a season record of 49-25.
Orth dominated for Philadelphia, raising his record to 7-2. Washington hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 1 hit over 10 innings while striking out 5.
"Al giving us the start that he did was huge," said Philadelphia manager Matthew Goforth.
