Madding Superb Against Boston
|
In a seemingly effortless performance, John Madding of the New York Giants shot down the Boston Beaneaters, 1-0, on 3 hits.
"John was just locating so well and using his pitches," New York manager David Schmitt said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Madding recorded 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Boston manager Ian King said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
On the year, Madding has compiled a 7-4 mark with a 2.27 ERA.
