Chicago Gets 7-2 Win
Chicago pitcher Addie Joss did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Spiders, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 9 innings, Joss surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The first-place Orphans now sit at 31-21.

Jake Stenzel was a prime factor in the win for the Orphans. In the top of the fifth with two out, the 11-year veteran hit a run-scoring single. He was 1-5.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Russ McKelvy. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
