Though he had a stellar game, Doc Gessler could not prevent his team, the Washington Senators, from losing, 8-4, to the Boston Beaneaters. Gessler was 4-5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Peek-A-Boo Veach was the winner. He's now 3-6. The loser was 32-year old right-handed pitcher Scott Stratton. Yes, it was a win for Boston; but their 12-26 record is still nothing to boast about.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Beaneaters grabbed the lead when Peek-A-Boo Veach rapped a two-out single. Boston was trailing 1-0, when Veach hit a 2-run single off Scott Stratton to put his team in front, 2-1.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Boston manager Ian King.
