Groves Fires Shutout in Boston Victory
|
The Pirates can take comfort in knowing that they will not have to face Frank Groves again for a while. The 30-year-old hurler pitched a 8-hit shutout to help the Boston Beaneaters beat Pittsburgh, 6-0. In the process, Groves struck out 11 and walked 5.
This year, Groves has worked 77 innings with 71 strikeouts en route to a 7-2 record and 0.94 ERA.
