Holliday Powers Giants Offense
|
The performance of Bug Holliday proved critical in helping New York beat Boston, 7-3. The Giants center fielder went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jack Sharrott, who is tied for 7th in the EL with a 1.09 WHIP, was the winner. He's now 5-2. The loser was Pretzels Getzien. With the victory, the Giants upped their record to 20-8.
In the top of the fifth, with the game tied, Boston allowed the Giants to go up, 4-3, on a Boston error.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Lajoie.
