Rojas Guns Down Leones
|
The Habana Leones manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the San Antonio de los Banos Comediantes. The Leones were overpowered by San Antonio de los Banos starter Adelio Rojas, who hurled his club to victory, 1-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Telesforo López said.
Over 9 innings, Rojas blanked Habana on 4 hits with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Rojas said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
On the year, Rojas has worked 239 innings with 88 strikeouts en route to a 12-16 record and 2.56 ERA.
