Round 2 Game 1 Victory for Enríquez and Rutland
The Rutland Quarrymen started the Round 2 in style, downing the visiting Derry Spuds at Thunder Dogs Grounds by a score of 4-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Quarrymen right-hander Atilio Enríquez threw 9.0 innings allowing 1 run.

Enríquez pitched a complete game for Rutland. The 28-year-old right-hander was charged with 1 run on 9 hits. He struck out 9 during his 129-pitch performance.

"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Enríquez, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Thunder Dogs Grounds in Rutland.
