Ghost Lights Get Past New Braunfels for 4-3 Win
Due in large part to second baseman Enrique Ortega, the Marfa Ghost Lights sunk the New Braunfels Yodelers, 4-3. Ortega was 3-3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Inocencio López. His record now stands at 13-15. The left-hander went 9 innings, allowing 3 runs on 11 hits for the Ghost Lights. Marfa, at 47-65, sits in last place in the Eastern Association Odessa Circuit.

Jim Aylward drove in one run for Marfa. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Aylward, who is tied for 10th in the FBL-EA in triples with 11, had a clutch at-bat. Facing New Braunfels hurler Jesús Torres, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Ghost Lights a 4-3 lead.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said New Braunfels manager Alfredo Vázquez.
