Not everyone stuck through the 97-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
Lachute Supercalandres starter Santiago Romero turned in an exceptional performance against the Laval Insulaires at Supercalenders Park, resulting in a Lachute win, 6-2. Romero, the winner, moves to 8-4. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk.
The Supercalandres got a big at-bat from right fielder Alfredo López. For the game, López went 1-5 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 34th double of the season gave Lachute a 1-0 lead.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," López told the Lachute Bulletin.
Lachute has won 4 consecutive games.
