Hellfire Need Extra Innings to Top Grizzlies, 4-1
Medicine Hat starter Efraín Sainz pitched well against the Kelowna Grizzlies at Kelowna Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1, in 10 innings. Sainz, now 4-4, was the winner. In 10 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 1, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Medicine Hat is third in the Western League with a record of 48-48.

Medicine Hat used the timely hitting of Diosdado Gutiérrez to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hellfire on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
