Kelowna starter Fernando Chávez kept the Medicine Hat offense from doing much damage. The left-hander leaned on his sinker in leading the Grizzlies to a 3-1 win. Chávez got the win, improving to 6-5. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. Kelowna, at 28-31, sits in 4th place in the Western League.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Noé García? The Kelowna catcher had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Grizzlies on top, 2-0. For the game, García had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
