In a seemingly effortless performance, Matías Silva of the Medicine Hat Hellfire shot down the Vancouver Gas, 7-0, on 5 hits.

"Matías was just locating so well and using his pitches," Medicine Hat manager Kieran King said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."

Silva recorded 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.

"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Vancouver manager Lynwood Thomas said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."

This year, Silva has a 4-7 mark in 12 starts with a 3.19 ERA. He has given up 85 hits in 87.1 innings, struck out 27 and issued 33 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .259 batting average against him.
