Fur Traders Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
Fur Traders Field was rocking after an exciting Fur Traders win.
The Kamloops Fur Traders got a stellar effort from pitcher Goliat Polanco, helping Kamloops score a win over the visiting Medicine Hat Hellfire, 3-2. The Hellfire, now 8-12 this season, have struggled to play .500 ball.
Ernesto Minaya played the role of hero for Kamloops. In the bottom of the tenth, he launched a solo home run off Julián Martín to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"Goliat made some big pitches when he needed to," said Fur Traders manager Enrique Hinojosa.
