Strikers Sneak Past Willows, 5-4
The Winnipeg Strikers picked up a win at Winnipeg Grounds, downing the Saskatoon Willows, 5-4, in 11 innings. On the mound for Winnipeg was right-hander Ernesto Altamirano, who played a pivotal role in the win. Marco Antonio Santana picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Virgilio Ávila suffered the loss. Winnipeg has a record of 1-3.

The Strikers got a clutch hit from designated hitter Oscar Rangel. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Strikers.

"We had a chance to win," said Saskatoon manager Mark Boudreau, "but we didn't get it done."
