Conditions were not ideal but Trois-Rivieres and Halifax were able to put their game in the books.

The Trois-Rivieres Trifluviens beat the Halifax Batteries, 4-2, with major props going to first baseman Calixto López. On the day, López was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Trifluviens. Dominic Simmons was the winner. He's now 14-13. The loser was 24-year old left-handed pitcher José Aguirre.

López contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Trois-Rivieres in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, López took a changeup from José Aguirre and stroked the home run to left-center. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Trifluviens to leap in front, 4-2.

Trois-Rivieres manager Hiram Esquivel called it "a darn good win."
