Ed Townsend was outstanding against Laval. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the LBQ in wins with 14, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Draveurs 6-3 win. With the win, the Draveurs have a record of 56-48.

Townsend, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 9 in 9 innings and gave up 3 runs.

Townsend, who is tied for 6th in the LBQ in wins with 14, moves to 14-10 on the year with 65 strikeouts.

"Ed went out and did what we needed," said Gatineau manager Valerio Benito.
