Wheelwrights Lose Late to Hammers
|
Hamilton registered a win at Hamilton Stadium by beating the Markham Wheelwrights, 3-2. Pitcher Telémaco García was one reason why the Hammers triumphed. García got the win, improving to 4-8. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The Hammers, at 39-65, sit in 4th place in the Ontario Baseball Association Ontario South.
With a runner on 1st and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, second baseman Anselmo Barreto delivered big for the Hammers. Hamilton was trailing 2-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.
"Telémaco was locating, throwing all of his pitches," said Hamilton manager Lewis Smith. "He did a heck of a job."
